Prayers Needed!!!

Just thought I would give a grandparent update for this week.

Weds. Popa Joe called Mom to tell her to come to Dallas because Grandmoma was sick. By the time she got here they had already been to the dr and talked him in to sending her home on oral meds with orders if she was not breathing better in a few days that he would put her in the hospital. Needless to say, they had called 911 by 10 pm (which is a story in itself) and back to the hospital she went. Finally at 5am, after many room changes, she got her final room. Mom has been here evry night.
While all this is going on, Popa Joe is not feeling well too. Popa being Popa, he says he will go to his doctor when he opens on Monday. (From here on is the story I got from Mom, so forgive me if it is not completely accurate.) Yesterday, he is running a low grade fever. My cousin, Jacob, and his wife, Amber, start trying to take care of him and get him in to see a doctor. Amber, for those of you who don't know is Page's sister, gets him registered online and they get the call to come in to the clinic. Supposedly, they get turned away because Popa has Medicare and was told to go to the ER if they thought he needed to. (What is happening to healthcare!!!!) Jacob finally finds a clinic that will accept Medicare and they take him to see the dr. Turns out he has a bad cold, but dr is more worried about his blood pressure. It was 202/142! I think Mom said they gave him some meds and told him to get it checked again today.
I stayed here at the hospital with Grandmoma last night. She took her sleeping pill but was still very restless. About 330am, the nurse gave her meds by IV and it infiltrated, so he started another, was able to do her lab draws then to keep lab from sticking her again and gave her Ativan to calm her nerves. She slept like a baby after that. I ran off people if I could, unless it was something that had to be done. Unfortunately, her INR came back high and they had to come stick her again to double check, but she was able to go right back to sleep. She got up at 830, ate a bit of breakfast, took her meds, put on her makeup and went back to sleep at 1030. She is still napping now! They have done another x-ray to compare, because she is really not making much improvement. Maybe they will figure this out soon, so she can get home and get more comfortable!
As for Popa Joe, Mom is down stairs in the ER with him. His pressure was still high this morning. After he took his regular blood pressure med, it came down some, but not enough for him to be comfortable. His systolic was still high, 174, but his dyastolic was down in the 80's, which is so much better.
So as you can read, they could really use some extra prayers sent on their behalf. If you don't mind, include all of us, specifically, my mom, Aunt Marsha and Uncle Danny, and Aunt Terry and Uncle Jack. I will try to update more as I get more info. Thank you!
