Last weekend, Kailee went to the State Fair of Texas in Dallas to show her goats. For those of you who don't know, this is something my mom started with her when she was just a baby. Her first time in the ring by herself was at 3yrs. old. She loves it! Mom has also adopted two other girls in the years since. Caitlyn is a freshman from Merkel and Sophie is a 7th grader from Highland. Sophie is the daughter of my good friend Chris from nursing school. Mom calls them The Blue Gainey Girls. Well, at the State Fair's junior show, the girls swept the show! I can't remember all of it, but Kailee did very well. She had Grand Champion Percentage Doe, Best Pair of Does, Best Pair of Opposite Sex, Best Herd and then earned Premier Exhibitor! How exciting!
Since I had to work, we could not attend so we went to the zoo with Ty instead. The animals were out and about! Oh what fun we had!
Ty's school project was to turn a pumpkin into something. He chose a shark and we just happened to find an oblong pumpkin. Billy cut the fins out of wood, I drew the lines and Ty painted. FUN!
After I dropped Ty and his shark off at school Monday morning, I went home to sleep since I work at night. When he got home from school, did he have a surprise for me! Apparently, he went to the bathroom during school and pulled out his loose tooth by himself. That night, Billy kept looking and saying how little his tooth was. I came to the sudden realization of how big my baby is getting! He lost his first tooth! I just wanted to go glue it back in and keep him little for ever! Needless to say, I controlled that urge and the Tooth Fairy did visit, much to Tyler's delight!

It's very sad, isn't it...our babies growing up so fast! I mean, I can hardly believe that Kane started middle school this year! Congratulations to your daughter for her wonderful accomplishments and to your "big boy" for losing his first tooth. You are a wonderful mama, Tressie! Love you!
