4th of July '09

Still playing catch-up! Here are my favorite pics from the 4th of July. We first went to Noodle for the 4th when we bought our house and our neighbors invited us to join them. The tiny community has a dinner and then puts on an awesome fireworks show each year! We've gone each year since then and our kids LOVE it!

After we leave Noodle, we come home and let the kids set off the small fireworks at the house. I think this is the only holiday that we spend with just us. This is one of my favorite parts!

Playing Catch-up- June

Since I've been really bad about posting this summer, I thought I would sit down and try to play catch-up! So the next few posts will be about things we have done over the summer! First...CHURCH CAMP!!! I don't have many pics, which is a shame, but I do have a few mountain climbing pics. My wonderful brother and sister-in-law take the kids up each year while I get to stay with the baby of the year. Thank you Lane and Page!

This is one of my favorite pics. I couldn't work the pics so you get to see it first!

On your mark! Get set! GO!

Elementary Awards

Here are the few pics I got at the Elementary Awards program. Mom took more and when I get them, I'll add more. I videoed (is that even a word :) ?) Ty's video is too long to post but I put Kailee's on here for Grandmoma to see.
Doesn't he look so sweet?

Kailee was 1 of 16 students from 1st through 5th grades to get All A's Honor Roll for the year.
Here's the link to view Kailee's awards:

Kailee's Field Trip

For Kailee's field trip, they spent the whole day in Abilene at the zoo, park, and Gymnastic Sports Center. Page and the girls joined us, and we had a blast even with the potty accidents! Kailee wanted to look and smile but you can tell she really wanted to keep her eyes on the snake. She's much better than me! I was holding Maddie and had to pretend I wasn't terrified so she would be okay touching it. I even touched it and, of course, that is when it's head swung down at me! Poor Maddie probably thought we were having and earthquake, I was shaking! but...It was a beautiful snake!

Emma Claire was tuckered out!

My BEAUTIFUL daughter!!!

Maddie at the park right before she told me she had to potty. Of course, the restrooms were NA-A-STEE so I tried to get her to the store down the street and...we didn't make it. We ran to Page's to get clean and change. Now understand, I had never had the oppurtunity to clean what I cleaned, so after a quick call to Page the panties went in the TRASH! Then off to GSC we went. About half way through, I was watching the kids play in the foam pit and realized that Maddie was laying there with red stuff on her legs. As I got closer, I saw a poo spot at the bottom of the slide and quickly realized what had happened! I jumped in (which in hindsight was the wrong thing to do) and handed her out then tried to climb out myself. If you have ever had the chance to get in one, you will understand how hard it is to get out if your a fat girl like me! After my three friends and one kind hearted 1st grader who thought he was helping, got me out with tears ROLLING down our faces from laughter, I ran to the bathroom with Maddie. After the clothes came off, I tried to wipe her down with wet paper towels which so DID NOT work. I finally put her in the TINY sink and washed her off then realized I did not have her diaper Page had given me in case of emergencies and could not get ahold of Donna to go get it out of my car. I called Page and said one word... "HELP!" She was having a crazy day, too! Check out her blog http://theboydgang.blogspot.com/

Sorry! This one didn't rotate!

This is Mrs. Stephens, 1st grade teacher, who happens to be one of my closest friends. We were trying to teach her how to do back flips on the trampoline. She finally gave up and went back to the front flips I taught her how to do on the last GSC trip.

Ty's Field Trip

Here are a few pics of Ty's field trip. He was so excited because they took them to Cold Stone Creamery where he can be like all the other kids and get "ice cream" (sorbet) then to Gymnastic Sports Center to run off all the sugar!

I just love this little cherub face! She is a sweet little girl in Ty's class that is always trying to love on him!

Sleep

Sometimes Ty tries to climb in our bed in the middle of the night, and with it only being a queen size with two "fluffy" adults already in it, Billy promptly puts him back in his bed. This particular night, Ty had come in there 3 times, and 3 times turned down. When we got up the next morning... this is where we found him! I guess this saying goes "If you try, try again, and again then go to Sissy!"

Forts and singing

Ty has been inside this house since last Tuesday (except for one trip to the ranch) and as you can imagine, he is going stir crazy! He is so ready to go outside to play and I'm so ready to let him! So, since we are still on house arrest, this is how we entertained ourselves today.

He was very PROUD of our fort!

"Gus the Goat" song

I found this picture on my cousin's facebook. It was taken last summer at her wedding, which was BEAUTIFUL! Ty was her ring bearer and Zoey served as flower girl. This is pure innocence and love!

Surgery and more

This week has been a big week for Tyler. On Monday, he got to cut metal with the cutting torch for the first time. He would tell you, "Yeah! And I was in my good shirt, too!". He had had his picture taken at school earlier and I didn't stop to change his clothes before going to the ranch. He was so excited! I don't know who was more excited, him or Popa.

On Tuesday, Ty had his tonsils and adnoids removed. I forgot my camera so I have no "before" pictures, but we have two "after" pictures. I want to thank everyone who have been keeping us in your prayers, and thank my Mom, Popa, Granny, and our preacher Michael for coming. We are truely blessed to have family (blood-related and Christian) that care that much! In fact, Michael and Granny beat us there and we were even ten minutes early!

Sleeping on the way home
Ty is doing well. He didn't slow down at all! He has slept more, but other than that, we are having a hard time keeping him inside. He still says his mouth is burning occasionally, but that should pass after today according to the dr. We'll see!
Have a blessed day!

Gipson Easter '09

Here are some pics from our family Easter in Garland. We have lots of fun, food and hunting. The "big" kids even have their own hunt after the babies. What can I say... it's tradition!

My hubby entertaining most of the kiddos!

Waiting to hunt!

Kailee

Maddie will get that egg!

Hunting for money now!

The BIG winner!

Maddie was more interested in hunting for what was in the cup than what is in the eggs.

These two are two peas in a pod!

Popa with his basket full of eggs to hide! I think this is the first year he actually got into the spirit of the "Bunny".

Travis learned quick!

Amber took a short cut... kind of.
