West Texas Fun Camp

This year our normal Girl Scout camp was cancelled due to a feral hog problem. I had the "bright" idea of going to our ranch and staying the night in the little house with our girls so that they would at least have some sort of camp this year. It was fun but a lot of WORK! Don't think I was much help after working Thursday night. Let's just say this : 2nurses + 29 patients = HURT! Anyways, here's a few pics of our two fun-filled days.

End of Day One

Packed in!

Cindy Cocoon

(We now know that Beavers make cocoons, too!)

Writing letters to our adopted soldier in Iraq

Kailee's not having any FUN!

Steer Roping

Red Rover, Red Rover

The Shootin' Range

Barrel Racing

So as you can see, I think we had lots of fun! I think Moma and Popa enjoyed it, too. I don't have pictures for Friday, but Mom took them on a hay ride to the Point so they could see Merkel and Trent from the Ranch. They also got to see the wind turbines annd even stood inside one of the blades that was on the ground. They loved it! The most talked about event was Pop-Pop playing his harmonica at the weenie roast that night. He later had a girl on each leg and one on each side , all eating s'mores. Next time you see him, ask him what s'mores feels like between the toes!

Well, I know it's a lot of reading, but I hope you enjoyed! Until next time!

Kailee had just climbed the mountain. Look at the expression on Zoey's face! Maddie loved playing with Tyler's truck. I couldn't get her to leave it behind!

Prayer Request

I know that we are all keeping all of our pregnant mommies in our prayers, but I need to add a friend of mine to that list. Her name is Angela Estep. A few months ago she was diagnosed with a brain tumor that was wrapped around her pituitary gland. It was able to be operated on and was removed. Last week she went in for a check up and they discovered another tumor. This one is fast growing and inoperable. She is beginning radiation 5 days a week for 5 weeks. Please pray that the doctors are successful! She is a wonderful woman with a wonderful family! Not only does she have a husband, Tom, and beautiful children, she has an extended family that is devestated. This family took me in and made me a member of their loving family. I adore them and pray that God will do His will. I just selfishly hope that God's will is let her stay here. I have no right to hope that, but I am human and that is the way it is. I know that God has a plan and we will continue to have faith!

Summer Fun

Well, like I said in the beginning, I AM NOT GOOD at this blogging thing although I have every intention of actually doing it more often. Now days, I rarely get on the computer while I'm at home, so I check it at work and they just took off the filter so I can access this site again. Sorry, guys! I have been working a crazy schedule since church camp. I work two nights on then two nights off. So I sleep my first day off then try to cram everything into the second day! Has not been working out too well. So, I will try to give you a rundown of our life since I last wrote.

*Kailee has been a very busy little girl! Beginning in June, she went to the National JABGA Show in Tulsa, OK. She did very well in the junior show. Her goal was to bring home a new belt buckle which she accomplished. She had a 1st place with Weeko, her doe kid from Spice. Then she won a 2nd place with her new buck kid, Jack Frost. Finally, she had the Reserve Pair of Opposite Sex goats and won a banner! Kailee takes after my mom and just loves her goats. I'll never understand it, but whatever makes her happy! Poor Ty has no interest, so he gets to stay at home with Mommy and Daddy. We always try to do something special so he does not feel too left out. He took swimming lessons everyday while his sister was gone. He still missed her terribly!

*The following week, we went to church camp! YEA! I just love it down there! You get away from all the hub-bub of living in a modern world and live with people who have the same morals and christian values. Before I became a nurse, I never realized how negative the people I work with would be. Some of the things that they talk about, and how they talk... you just would not believe! Camp was such a peaceful place to be growing as a child and stays the same even now. My kids love and talk about going year-round.

* :( We had to leave camp three days early, but it was for a good cause! My cousin Stacey got married! Yea! We love her choice too. His name is Bobby and he fits right in with our crazy family. Tyler was her ring-bearer and Zoey, my niece, was one of her flower girls. It was a BEAUTIFUL ceremony with a wonderful reception after. We stayed in a hotel right down from the church and the kids got to go swimming and played together all weekend. I am blessed with beautiful sisters! We get to see each other often and our kids seem to be very close.

* My mom went to Ohio for a goat sale the week of 4th of July. Kailee decided she wanted to go too. I said no, but after the 3rd time of her asking I told her to ask her daddy. He said yes, so off she went again! I was being selfish and wanted to keep her home, because the 4th is the only holiday we spend together at home by ourselves. We go out to Noodle for their community get-together and firework show. It's awesome! So, I spent what I normally spend on two kids, on just Ty. He got everything he wanted! (I know, some of you are thinking how crazy that was to get him everything he wanted, but oh well!) In the end, I was glad. When we got out there, five of my girl scouts found me and crawl in the back of the truck and shot off his fireworks with him. I was glad to have those extras! The funniest thing is, the entire time we were out there, Billy would say, "I wish Kailee was here!" Needless to say, I couldn't keep from saying, "I tried to tell you! Remember, I said no!"

Well, that about sums it up. I will try to post pics when I have a chance, just don't hold your breath!
